Position Summary

To provide high quality and timely first and second level IT support and training to all users of the local Methanex New Zealand IT Network, desktop infrastructure, corporate applications and communication services.

Position Responsibilities

  • To provide customer-focused Level 1 infrastructure and application support and Level 2 desktop support to Methanex New Zealand employees and contractors
  • To provide customer-focused support services for the local IT Network, desktop infrastructure, corporate applications and communication services
  • To effectively manage allocated Business and IT initiatives from the Annual Plans to accepted quality standards
  • To sustain strong relationships with users, system owners, business leaders and vendors/suppliers in one or more business functions to proactively identify potential system improvements
  • To provide configuration and routine maintenance of the VoIP phone system, allocation of connection end points and training for users when requested
  • To maintain an understanding of application functionality, deployment architectures and IT infrastructure components to ensure effective problem diagnosis and resolution
  • To support application troubleshooting, and development testing ensuring data input and output quality requirements are met
  • To understand all regional and global controlled documents relating to this position and identify opportunities to improve procedures and systems. Advise users of their responsibilities under the IT standards
  • To undertake research and testing of product updates and new products that maybe beneficial to Methanex’s New Zealand operations
  • To ensure that critical IT equipment is secure and maintained in accordance with Global IT Framework and the Manufacturer’s specifications
  • To administer user accounts to ensure business needs are met effectively whilst complying with vendor licensing requirements
  • Undertake after-hours support for business-critical systems. This will be either as on-call support for incidents, or agreed planned after-hours work

Position Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology / Computer Science / Computer Engineering or related field

Experience and Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of Windows – Server and Desktop OS
  • Advanced knowledge of PC hardware architecture
  • Sound knowledge of LAN architecture and concepts
  • Sound knowledge of Data protection concepts
  • Experience in enterprise data back-up and recovery tools
  • Systems support and integration experience; awareness of ITIL processes
  • Experience in application compiling and interface development
  • Familiarity with databases, SQL, Office 365, SharePoint, PowerAutomate, and Power Apps
  • Familiarity with the Systems Development Life Cycles
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Good public relations skills to interface with internal customers and stakeholders
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including Facilitation skills
