Summer Intern – Assistant Process Engineer

Position Summary

To assist in opportunities available to improve the plant efficiency monitoring and help with regular engineering activities of the Process Engineering team.

Position Responsibilities

  • Build dashboards for plant unit efficiencies and emissions either in PiVision or PowerBI
  • Progress a Sustainability related project (Resizing of Deaerator Restriction Orifice) through to completion
  • Checking of line list aligned with the Safe Operating Limits Project
  • Carry out annual Cooling Water exchanger survey

Position Qualifications

  • Completed 2nd or 3rd year of Chemical and Process Engineering degree
  • Intermediate level of Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience with process simulation software (preferably HYSYS but Symmetry/Unisim/etc acceptable)
  • Ability to work with others
  • Results driven and goal orientated
  • Well organised
  • Communicates well within own group and other departments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Particular attention to detail
  • Problem solving
  • Ability to utilise initiative and seek more information when required
  • Detail orientated
  • Self motivated
  • NZ Drivers Licence and access to a vehicle as there is no public transport available to work site
